Lydia Neary-Zajiczek

I am a PhD student working jointly with UCL’s Touch Lab and the Surgical Robot Vision Group, both within the Department of Computer Science. I have carried out academic research in a number of fields including biomedical engineering, atomic physics, quantum optics and synthetic biology. Previously I worked in the Biotechnology and Earth Observation groups at the National Physical Laboratory developing optical instrumentation for a wide range of research and metrology applications. My primary research interest is developing microscopy techniques and low-cost instrumentation for high-throughput imaging systems, with the aim of improving adoption of digital workflows in clinical pathology. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Engineering Physics from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, and an MSc degree in Optics and Photonics from Imperial College London.
