Professor Julius Mugwagwa appointed UCL’s Global Strategic Academic Advisor (Africa)

Professor Julius Mugwagwa will commence his three-year appointment in January, where he will help to shape the university’s strategic approach to engagement with Africa.
UCL’s Global Engagement team aim to deliver transformational global impact, extend UCL’s international reach, and develop fair solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges through global partnerships.
Within his role as Global Strategic Academic Advisor (Africa), Professor Julius Mugwagwa will be responsible for developing UCL’s approach to engagement and collaboration with Africa, helping our academic community to collaborate across borders.
Professor Julius Mugwagwa stated:
"This is an important role in the Office of the UCL Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement). There are many excellent collaborations already between UCL and different stakeholders in Africa to build on. I look forward toworking with and learning from the GSSA’s for the other regions, and interested others in the wider university community, to consolidate and expand UCL’s research, teaching and innovation collaborations in and with African countries."
