Artist's statement
I am a multidisciplinary artist working preponderantly in the fields of sculpture, architectural design and public art. Although I don't particularly try to follow a certain narrative, during the last 2 years I've developed an affinity for cinematography which reflects my pursuit of lucidity. 

Inspired by the new movie Annihilation, the aim is to freestyle my way through the rainbow diorama of design and comment about the subtleties of making, space exploration and the infinity of form. I tend to visit the interior of the object as much as the exterior via geometrical amalgamations the same as outer body experience.

I tried to think of minimalism. I challenged myself to select poetic works which I believe- will create a more philosophical dialogue with the character of the project. The sculptures being abstracted from meaning, they form around a state of world anxiety and that of a search for identity in fluxus.

During the years at the Slade I wanted to create lasting and meaningful works. My degree project ‘Floral Ambience 5’ consists of balanced shapes, digital or 3D, material or inflated, that provoke the viewer to question the bendable reality of nature and life itself.

I experiment with a variety of models that marry sculpture with graphic design, art and architecture. I want to make contemporary cool again. Plugging in to the mainstream of our consciousness, I want to do folk forms that make you think about tradition and what has now become a new force in a foreign culture.

I believe my work will accompany well the post internet conceptual partnership. This is a chance for me to explore other aspects of our galaxy such as annihilation via the intransigent use and marketisation of commodities and social media ubiquities, my sculptures tend to be exactly the opposite of that, alien and inorganic.

Floral Ambience 5
The work is about an altered reality where sci-fi environments prevail. The customary laws of physics, biology, time and memory are weirded out, confusion and anxiety are the only stills of life that portray this world. Just like in the movie 'Annihilation', this could be the area in which a strange phenomenon is happening, and inexplicable events are ordinary. The suggested plants and tree like forms, are more robotic and artificial than they are real. The incentive to look for life beyond life is like a shimmer of a distant island when you are stranded in an ocean of foreverness. The only life that is palpable after extinction are these lifeless shapes that spread epidemically like an anomaly leaving behind the feeling of what once was a form of life.
