UCL IRDR is delighted to announce two scholarship awards for BSc students in the UCL Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction for academic year 2022/23.

Both these scholarships are awarded as a reduction in full-time student fees, and are open to students applying to the BSc Global Humanitarian Studies.

Details of the Scholarship

  • £9,000 towards overseas tuition fees.
  • Two awards for any overseas fee paying student
  • Application deadline is 25th April 2022. Please note that applicants for this scholarship need to separately apply for a place on BSc through the standard admissions process. Awards will be announced by the end of May 2022.

After checking that you have applied for a place on our BSc Global Humanitarian Studies, and hold or will soon be issued an offer for the programme, applications will be assessed on the basis of:

  • Academic merit
  • Motivation to study on the BSc Global Humanitarian Studies

Guidelines for application

Applications should be sent to irdr-enquiries@ucl.ac.uk and must have the exact email subject title of “UCL IRDR BSc Scholarship Application”. In the email, please confirm that you have applied for a place on the BSc Global Humanitarian Studies and your applicant number.

The IRDR promotes students becoming leaders in knowledge exchange so that they can share their knowledge within their sectors and with stakeholders. Therefore, the personal statement should include a statement of how you intend to use the degree in your future career.
  • No additional materials should be submitted with the application. Any sections exceeding the page limits will be discarded, and emails under a different subject line may not be picked up.
