Research Interests

Electrons trapped in gate-defined quantum dots in silicon are commonly regarded as a promising approach to build a scalable quantum computer. Less attention has been devoted towards holes, the charge carriers in the valence band. They exhibite interesting properties for qubit manipulation like the ability for fast electrical control using the plunger gate. My aim is to investigate the physics of these hole systems in CMOS fabricated devices. By adding reflectometry techniques for qubit read-out one could ultimately achieve a compact design allowing a dense qubit layout.
