The annual Education Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of staff and students and their contributions to our learning community. This year’s award winners were announced on 9th June 2021.

Dr Marchant is a Senior Research Fellow in Division of Psychiatry, holds a Senior Fellowship from the Alzheimer’s Society and is a co-investigator on several UK- and internationally-funded projects that investigate how lifestyle and thinking style can affect brain health in older adults.

She is proudly involved in the supervision of 4 outstanding PhD students and a number of excellent MSc students each year.

Students described Dr Marchant, “She not only cares for her students but believes in them, pushing them to their best and encouraging them to be confident about their skills.”

The Student Choice Awards give students the chance to thank members of staff who have inspired and supported them during their time at UCL, letting these staff members know that their hard work makes a difference.

Talking about receiving the award, Dr Natalie Marchant said, “I feel surprised and honoured that the students I supervise took the time to nominate me for this award.  The most important aspect of receiving this award for me is that the students feel I provided some useful guidance to help them navigate their research projects and future career journeys. If there was an award for an outstanding group of research students I would have enthusiastically nominated them!”
