Camino Mortera-Martinez and Silvena Pesta on European Migration and Refugee Policy

09 December 2021, 6:00 pm–7:15 pm

refugee

Migration and refugee flows have caused huge strains within the European Union. First there were the difficulties of sharing the burden of refugees crossing the Mediterranean. Then there were tensions caused by Covid-19 and the closing of borders between EU member states. To discuss the difficulties and possible solutions we have two expert speakers: Camino Mortera-Martinez, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for European Reform in Brussels; and Silvena Pesta, Head of Unit C1 on irregular migration and returns in the Directorate General on Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission
