What is Involved?

The children participating in the research will see mixing of different everyday, non-toxic and child friendly substances (e.g. sugar, water, salt, child-friendly paint powder, beetroot powder, vinegar etc) and will be asked to answer some questions about what happens when different substances mix. 

We hope to include children from kindgren through to year 6. 

The activities will be engaging and enjoyable for young children and the duration of the tasks will be kept short, with individual sessions lasting between 5-15 minutes, which will take place on a date and a time that is appropriate within the curriculum. 

All information gathered will be kept confidential and used only for research purposes and in compliance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998. 

Of course, children's participation will depend on both the parent and the child's willingness to take part.
