We are engaged in forefront research in human speech, language and communication. Our interests include core issues in the development of spoken and written language, the cognitive bases of language in adults, the inter-relationship of language with other cognitive systems, and impairments of language and communication across the lifespan. The profile of the department is multidisciplinary, consisting of 27 scholars with backgrounds in psychology, linguistics, speech-language therapy, and education.
