Coordinating Director
I am a Clinical Psychologist and Lecturer (teaching) in the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences at UCL, where I teach and supervise BSc, MSc and DClinPsy psychology students.
What motivates me to work as an applied psychologist in a research environment is that gaining a better understanding of a problem is the first step towards solving it. Seeing many of the students I work with thrive at university is one of the best parts of my job; however, some students start their degrees with mental health problems, and being a student can exacerbate existing issues or trigger new ones. What makes PsychUP for Wellbeing such an exciting programme is that we have an opportunity to make a real difference to practice.
As Coordinating Director, my focus is on harnessing our community’s considerable resources – bringing together clinical and acadmic experts, practitioners, students, NHS services and staff, university senior leaders and other stakeholders – to create PsychUP for Wellbeing’s vision of better outcomes for students and staff.
