They were awarded this £300 prize for their final year projects.  Luisa’s project (The impact of background noise on speech output in people with aphasia) was supervised by Dr Carolyn Bruce and Dr Caroline Newton.  Tom’s project (An investigation into the influence of prosodic information on grammaticality judgements in aphasic listeners) was supervised by Professor Rosemary Varley and Dr Vitor Zimmerer. The Tavistock Trust for Aphasia is a national organisation established by the Duke and Duchess of Bedford that aims to raise the profile of aphasia, and to support research and clinical services into the condition.
