Dr Katarina Palasis from Université Côte d'Azur will be giving a UCL Linguistics Seminar talk:
Seminar Title: Wh-fronting in Colloquial French: Empirical and theoretical perspectives on child data
Abstract: The talk will address the long-standing issue of the so-called ‘optionality’ of wh-movement in Colloquial French in the light of previous and new semi-naturalistic child data (16 children between 2;5 > and 5;11). French diglossia and recent research at the syntax-semantics interface will be reported (i.e., the Verb-form and Exclusivity hypotheses), and the talk will end with a presentation of current ongoing work on the matter.

The seminar will be taking place online in Zoom.  Please contact Richard Jardine for joining details.
