Laura Vaughan

Laura Vaughan
Laura Vaughan is a Professor of Urban Form and Society and the Director of the Space Syntax Laboratory at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. She is also the Vice-Dean Health for the Faculty of Built Environment, UCL. She received her PhD in Architecture from the University of London in 1999 and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and the Royal Geographical Society. Prof Vaughan’s research focuses on the investigation of the spatial patterning of poverty, segregation, and economic and social exchange using space syntax methods of modelling urban configuration. She has worked on many interdisciplinary projects, collaborating with experts in history, geography, crime science, public health, anthropology, transport and planning. She is currently co-investigator on an ESRC funded Loneliness and Social Isolation in Mental Health network, led by the UCL Division of Psychiatry.
