Why are you interested in this subject and what do you plan to do in the future?

My background is medicine, and I will begin training as an obstetrician and gynaecologist. I chose this course because I wanted to develop more of an academic approach and gain exposure to research in the specialty.

What is the most interesting thing you've done, seen or got involved with while at UCL?

My lecturers! Sounds nerdy, but UCL is doing cutting edge stuff that is so far ahead of the curve, so it's incredible hearing about the next big thing before you realise its even physically possible!

Have you discovered any hidden gems during your time at UCL?

My favourite place for coffee is a place just off Gower Street called Store Street Espresso. The coffee is great and the sky light and white washed walls makes the space seem full of light throughout the whole year. Another place for food is Honey & Co. by Warren Street. It's a Middle Eastern restaurant with beautiful food made by a husband and wife duo, but it's tiny so make sure you get a reservation.

Give us your top three things to do/see/go to in London:

Wander along the canals, cycle through Richmond Park, and go to as many gigs as possible.

If you were Provost for the day what one thing would you do?

Space has been, and is always going to be given our central London location, an issue for under and post graduate students alike. So ideally, I'd design a big common area for students to study, eat and relax. But since I've only got one day, I'd throw a street party in the Quad! Live bands, a few DJ sets, food trucks for the cultural societies…and a teacup ride. Everyone loves a good teacup ride.

Who inspires you and why?

My friends are my daily inspiration. Living in London can often be overwhelming and lonely, but my friends are constantly exploring, so I am constantly finding new things to love about this city.

What would it surprise people to know about you?

My Spanish is better than my Mandarin.
