Launching the Professional Services Hub

Transforming our Professional Services

A key initiative for Transforming our Professional Services (TOPS) is the launch of the Professional Services Hub (PS Hub).

The first version of the PS Hub will bring together around 120 staff who deliver a range of services across Human Resources, Finance, Communications and Marketing, Information Services Division, Estates, and Student and Registry Services.

The idea for the PS Hub came from discussions in the first half of 2017 where the TOPS team listened and talked to colleagues across faculties, divisions, institutes and central teams to hear what is working well and not so well in our professional services. Despite the continued dedication and commitment of professional services staff, the TOPS team heard that some processes are seen as difficult to navigate, time-consuming and open to possible error.

Over time, the PS Hub will develop a single point of contact for queries, making our processes smoother for the benefit of the whole UCL community. By bringing together teams who work closely with each other in a single location, the PS Hub will improve the quality of those services.

The PS Hub will be located in 1 St Martin’s Le Grand (SMLG), a leased property near St. Paul’s Cathedral, already in use by colleagues from ISD. It will launch in November 2018 with set up activities continuing through to March 2019 to minimise change during peak periods of activity.
