Dr. Lan is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) within the Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering. His research is revolved around soft matter, colloids, supramolecular chemistry and interfaces. Dr. Lan and his team work closely with Prof. Coppens and the whole Nature-Inspired Chemical Engineering (NICE) group, aiming to develop nature-inspired adaptive materials & systems for innovative solutions to address grand challenges in health, environment and sustainability. Current research projects/area within his team include: 1) nature-inspired advanced colloids for applications in vaccine formulation, drug-delivery and emulsification; 2) nature-inspired functional materials (membranes, colloids) for CO2 capture, separation and utilisation (photocatalytic reduction of CO2).
