Former Visiting Researcher, now PhD student at Zhejiang University
Shuman Xu

Research:

High-quality zeolite synthesis procedures and surface modification methods will be explored to achieve fine control in the surface structure and grain boundaries of hierarchical zeolites. Mass transport measurements, combined with catalytic evaluations, will provide a new opportunity to examine the nature of surface barriers on such zeolites.

Shuman joined the Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering (CNIE) as a visiting researcher in October 2019. She is a PhD student from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and a team member of Prof Fengqiu Chen and Prof Dang-Guo Cheng's research group at Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China). Her current research interest is in the adsorption and diffusion process and its influence on catalytic properties in hierarchical zeolites. Her project in CNIE focuses on the nature of surface barriers to transport in hierarchical zeolites.
