Congratulation to Yang Lan for securing a RS Research grant.

NICE lecturer Yang Lan received the Royal Society (RS) Research grant to develop cucurbituril-based, 2D materials for CO₂ capture and storage. Cucurbituril is macrocyclic molecule used in drug delivery, asymmetric synthesis, catalysis and many other applications which make use of its ring shaped structure and high binding affinity of cationic compounds. The project will focus on scalable synthesis and purification of cucurbiturils.
