Nanoengineered Systems Lab

We investigate nanoengineered systems for energy and healthcare applications. This involves small scale transport phenomena and (nano)manufacturing technologies. Our group’s expertise includes small scale thermofluidics, multiphase transport, novel nanomanufacturing, and materials physics and characterisation.

Examples of current research topics include nanoengineered surfaces to manipulate liquid repellency, bacterial biofilm mitigation, controlling phase change processes (freezing, condensation etc.), high-resolution 3D printing technologies for biosensors and minimally invasive imaging tools, small scale thermofluidics for thermal management, new diagnostics platforms etc. Most of these works are cross-disciplinary with active and fruitful collaborations with clinicians, physicists, mathematicians, chemists and, of course, engineers.
