The Tapley and Bryden test
The original data from the Tapley and Bryden test are available here, with kind permission of Phil Bryden's widow, Patricia Row, and his daughter, Pamela Bryden. The data were provided to Chris McManus in 1997, after Phil's death, in the form of a copy of Phil's file on the University of Waterloo mainframe computer.
The files consist of:
- The raw data file, SURV7980.DATA which is in ASCII, with two records per participant.
- The original syntax file, SURV7980.SPSSX, which is also in ASCII, for reading SURV7980.data.
- A version of the data as an SPSS .SAV file, written by SPSS V22.0. The initial variables are those in the original file, and then a number of derived variables have been added for convenience.
- A copy of the manuscipt of the paper published in Laterality in 2016 which describes the re-analyses of the Tapley and Bryden data.
