Two pieces of good news to share today:

• Bishal Deb passed his viva on 19th October 2023 and passed with no corrections. His thesis title was `Enumerative combinatorics, continued fractions and total positivity' was supervised by Alan Sokal. He will now join a postdoctoral position in Sorbonne University, Paris. Congratulations!
• This year’s winner of `The Panos Tofarides Prize for Excellence in Mathematics' is Ioannis Chrysostomou. The prize is for the most academically promising Cypriot student joining the department. This prize is funded by Panos Tofarides, an alumnus of the department.
