Department News, June 2023, Part 2

Three pieces of good news this week:

(1) Erik Burman has had an EPSRC research grant funded. Its title is "Continuous finite element methods for under resolved turbulence in compressible flow"

(2) Arkady Wey, who many of you may remember from his time as an undergraduate student here, won the Mathematics section of the annual STEM for Britain poster competition in Parliament (last March!)

(3) Christina Pagel has been announced as a president of the "Mathematical Sciences" scientific section for the British Science Festival:

She also has a paper in Wired News (attached), and gave the 2023 Collingwood lecture last week.
