Department News, March 2022 Part 1

(1) I wrote a couple of weeks ago that Veronica Bitonti (a first year undergraduate) had been invited to speak at Tomorrow's Mathematicians Today. I can now report that she was awarded the prize for the most popular presentation for her talk, “A mathematical view of space”. 

(2) We have appointed the final one of the new round of IMSS Research Fellows (to start next autumn) - the applied appointment is Matthew Crowe.

(3) Yohance Osborne was selected to be the flag-bearer for Trinidad on Commonwealth Day last Monday at Westminster Abbey.
