Department News, July 2022 Part 1

(1) The Early Career Researchers in Mathematics conference was held here last week, organised by a team of PhD students: Sebastian Monnet, Enric Sole-Farre, Amalia Gjerloev, Kobe Marshall-Stevens, Yohance Osborne, Bishal Deb, Ellen Jolley, Willem Salm and Jakob Stein. It went extremely well, and I keep on hearing good things about it from around the department. Well done to all of them: this is a major achievement!

(2) Ted Johnson has been appointed as Heilbronn Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Isaac Newton Institute programme just starting, on "Dispersive hydrodynamics: mathematics, simulation and experiments, with applications in nonlinear waves".
