Department News, August 2021 Part 1

This week we received the feedback on our successful Athena SWAN silver submission from last November. It was really excellent, and once again I need to pass on my thanks to the whole SAT for the work they put in. A few sample quotes:

  • The submission demonstrates significant activity and achievement that has been maintained since the department first obtained its Silver award, and there has been clear positive impact on students and staff.
  • The panel are especially impressed by the care that appeared to have gone into the pandemic response, and also by the overall analysis within and presentation of this submission, making this a strong exemplary Silver level application.
  • A beautifully presented document, and generally very well edited and clear.
