New publication in Journal of Cell Science for Acton Lab

In their recent publication in Journal of Cell Science, the Acton Lab show that lymph node fibroblastic reticular cell behaviour is controlled by the partnership of a key transmembrane protein podoplanin with two membrane-organising proteins, CD44 and CD9. When associated with each of these partners, podoplanin signals differently, controlling actomyosin contractility, cell spreading , polarity and adhesion. Podoplanin partners are  important for FRCs to elongate in response to dendritic cells, a key process in acute lymph node expansion.
