About US

The Lighthill Institute of Mathematical Science was originally set up to:

Establish a critical mass of mathematicians, statisticians and mathematical scientists generally interested in collaborating through seminars, thematic workshops and joint research

Enhance UK and international collaboration in mathematical sciences through a visitor programme

Hold open lectures and seminars on general interest topics and ‘hot issues’ in mathematical science, such as risk, biomedical research, modelling London’s environment, etc.
