Biography

London solicitor, and trustee of Peter Theodore Shaw (q.v). Rickards was also the solicitor to the Gaussen family of Brookmans Park.

  1. Edward James Rickards, son of George (solicitor) and Frances Rickards, of Great Russell Street baptised 09/02/1815 at St George Bloomsbury; Charles Frederick, same parentage and detail, baptised 03/02/1818 also St St George Bloomsbury. A George Rickards married Frances Drinkwater at Bredon, Ashchurch (near Tewksebury) in 1810.

  2. In 1841, George Nickards[sic] solicitor aged 60 was living at 54 Queen Anne Street, Marylebone, with Frances aged 50, Frances Elisa 25, Go 25 and Edw 25. In 1851 George Rickards solicitor aged 73 born Worcester was living at Send Grove Surrey with sons Edward James 33 (also a solicitor) and Frederick Charles 31 (a farmer with 300 acres) and daughters Cordelia 30 and Caroline 25. Will of George Rickards of Send Grove Surrey proved 09/07/1857. Edward James Rickards of Elm Bank Leatherhead died 18/08/1893 leaving £43867 4s 5d, resworn August 1894 £44612 2s 11d.
