Awarded 1/4 of the compensation with William Samuel Augustine Ellis (q.v.) for the Seven Plantations estate in Jamaica, as 'maternal heirs' of Mary Chandler.

  1. Mrs Mary Cotton appears to have been the wife of William Cotton (q.v.), the trustee awarded the other 3/4 of the compensation for the enslaved people on Seven Plantations. Her relationship with William Samuel Augustine Ellis has not yet been traced. On 29/6/1814 William Cotton Esq., of St Marylebone, married Mary Harriet Chandler a minor, with the consent of Harriet Chandler her guardian under the will of George Chandler. Mary Chandler was among the witnesses.
