Biography

Merchant in Walsall, father of (and co-claimant with) Charles Haden Adams (q.v.). Their path to ownership of a single enslaved person in Trinidad is unclear. The enslaved person appears to have been Ben Hughes, a carpenter aged 42 whose birthplace is given as St Kitts, registered to Charles Adam and Son in 1834.
