1841 census shows an Eleanor Jopp Ind. aged 55 [sic] living at Lansdown Terrace with Charles (30), E. J. (30), Ann (30) Sarah (25), none born in the same county. In 1829, Charles Mitchell Jopp registered 5 enslaved people as attorney of Eleanor Jopp. In 1851 at 7 Lansdown Terrace, Ellenor Jop, widow, age 70, born Gloucestershire; unmarried daughters Ellenor age 45, born [indecipherable, but abroad as followed by B.S. for "British Subject"], Anna age 42 born Bath, Jessett age 43 born Bath, Elizabeth Jane age 43 born Bath; 3 female servants.
"Letters of Administration of the Personal estate and effects of Eleanor Jopp late of Cheltenham in the County of Gloucester Widow deceased who died 5 January 1859 at Cheltenham aforesaid were granted at the Principal Registry to Eleanor Stewart Jopp of Cheltenham aforesaid Spinster the Daughter of the said Deceased she having been first sworn. Effects under £300." "On the 5th inst. [January 1859], at Cheltenham, Eleanor, widow of the late Keith Jopp, Esq., of Keith-hall, and Joppa, Jamaica, aged 82." "Lately, [1823 Death] at Tours, in France, Keith Jopp, Esq. late of Bath and the Island of Jamaica." [Keith-hall is in Banffshire, Scotland, but was also an estate in Jamaica]. Reported in the Aberdeen Journal for 1821, "Died, at Jamaica, Mr. George Jopp, eldest son of Keith Jopp, Esq."
'Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership lately carried on in Jamaica, between Robert Bogle, Keith Jopp, Andrew Bogle, and George Moir, under the Firm of Bogle, Jopp, and Co., hath been dissolved, and Keith Jopp hath assigned his Share of the Property and Debts of that Partnership to Robert Bogle, Andrew Bogle, and George Moir.'
