Biography
Slave-owner on St Kitts, whose estates passed through his daughter Priscilla into the family of her husband Robert Marsham, Baron Romney.
- Will of Charles Pym of the island of St Christopher [made in 1739] proved 16/04/1741. He manumitted Old Will, head carpenter, and left him two barrels of beef per annum; and he manumitted Bussey, the daughter of Cuba, and left her £300 at 21, to be revoked if St Kitts was taken by a foreign enemy before then or to be reduced if St Kitts was 'plundered', and an annuity of £20 p.a. until she was of age. He left monetary legacies of £500 each to Mrs Jane Burt '(if she shall live with me at the time of my death'), his godson Charles Pym Burt and Frances Pym Douglas, and £300 to his niece Mrs Eliz Fox [?] of Montserrat, and an unknown legacy - the will is blank where the amount should be - to Charles Pym Weatherill. He left his residuary estate to his daughter Priscilla.
