Biography

Slave-owner on St Kitts, shown on Samuel Baker's 1753 map in St John Capisterre with his estate immediately south of John Woodley's The Profit. This was probably the estate known as Convent, which in 1794 was shown as in the hands of Hubert Guichard Mercer.

  1. Will of Hubert Guichard of Saint Christopher proved 13/07/1758. He left the bulk of his property to his daughter Mary Booth and his grandson Hubert Guichard Mercer. He left his grand-daughter Mary Mercer 'a negroe woman slave called Melissa and all her issue and increase' and £1000.
