Andrew Hamilton of Nevis

Biography

Resident slave-owner on Nevis. In 1772 he agreed to buy two estates from [Sir] Ralph Payne, identified as Walkers or Lower or Windmill and De Witts for £37,000. He married Martha Williams Herbert, daughter and heiress of John Richardson Herbert, in 1787. In 1805 he assigned his assets to his creditors.
