Biography

Co-heir of her uncle Henry Riddall Campbell (q.v.), only daughter of Robert Rutherford Campbell and grand-daughter of Archibald Campbell of Minard and Knockbuy (q.v.). She married Rev. Alexander Watt in Edinburgh in 1826. Given as Ellen Charlotte Watt in the probate for her husband in 1867 and her own probate in 1873. Her son John Alexander Watt later took the name Campbell.

  1. The will of Ellen Charlotte Watt formerly of Blackheath and then of Lyncombe Somerset but late of Nice who died 03/02/1873 at Nice proved 18/07/1873 by John Alexander Campbell (formerly Watt) the son, effects under £100. Her husband, perpetual curate of Trinity Southampton from 1846, died formerly of Castlenau Villas Barnes and late of Westfield Cottage, Lyncombe Bath, and left £14,000 in 1867.
