Biography

Owner of Mount Pleasant in St Ann, Jamaica. An absentee from at least 1778. Tentatively identified by LBS as William Edwards of Bruges (1746-1823), although in 1795 the estate was shown as owned by William Edwards junior (possibly William Frederic or Frederick Edwards, q.v.).

Probably the same William Edwards who contributed £20 to the University of Pennsylvania following Dr John Morgan's fundraising tour of the West Indies in 1772-1773.
