Cargil Mowatt

Biography

Cargill Mowatt, son of William and Elizabeth Mary Mowatt, was baptised in St James, Jamaica, 09/08/1787 and buried 09/08/1823, also in St James. An enslaved man named Robert alias Robert M'Kellar was sentenced to death for the murder of Cargill Mowat [sic] at Montego Bay in 1823 in a case reported by Alexander Barclay.
