Banker and co-partner with William Alers Hankey and Thomas Hankey II, and son of Robert Hankey, a previous partner in the family banking firm.

  1. Will of Augustus Robert Hankey of Fenchurch Street proved 30/03/1830. In the will he left his house at Basingstoke for life to Mrs Cassandra Sympson, and the property he shared with his partners in trust, with William Alers Hankey having the option to buy Augustus Robert Hankey's share in the Fenchurch St premises for £1500, Thomas Hankey having the option to buy half of Augustus Robert Hankey's original share in Arcadia and the enslaved people on it for £5000 and Thomas and William Alers having the option to buy the other half.
