Co-owner with George Ellis of Palm in St Thomas-in-the-Vale, Green Castle and Orange Hill in St Mary, Crawle, Cow Park Pen and Ellis Caymanas in St Catherine, .

  1. Will of Jacob Mendes Gutieres, merchant of St Catherine, Jamaica proved 04/11/1752.

  2. Jacob Gutteres was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 300 acres of land in St Catherine and 273 acres of land in St John, total 573 acres. This may be the estate of Jacob Mendes Gutteres, or possibly the son.

  3. Jacob Mend. Gutterez of St Catherine, merchant. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1750. Slave-ownership at probate: 352 of whom 193 were listed as male and 159 as female. 67 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £72293.41 Jamaican currency of which £9502.5 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £2416.79 currency cash, £60117.91 currency debts and £349.56 currency plate.
