Son of Daniel Monro senior of Crescent estate in St Mary, Jamaica. Respondent in the Chancery case Knight vs. Monro.

Daniel Monroe was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 2513 acres of land in St Mary and 1500 acres of land in St James, total 4013 acres.

Daniel Monro of St Mary, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1766. Slave-ownership at probate: 317 of whom 159 were listed as male and 158 as female. 96 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £27,819.78 Jamaican currency of which £14,589.71 currency was the value of enslaved people.
