Biography

Resident slave-owner in Jamaica. Father of Levi Patmore junior or II (q.v.).

  1. Levi Patmore senior entered a caveat on the estate of Joshua Patmore (possibly his father) on 25 January 1793. Between 1810 and his death around 1820-23, he owned up to 30 slaves and 6 head of stock on the Hatfield Plantation, which lay 2 miles west south-west of the present day town of Mandeville. In 1817, he served as Constable and Tythingman.
