Biography

Owner of an estate in St Kitts presumed to be Losacks, which under his will of 1813 he left to his son George Losack (q.v.) subject to an annuity of £150 p.a. to his [the testator's] wife Christiana, to provision for some of his younger sons, £800 to Richard and £500 to Woodley, and to George Losack forgiving the £600 his father owed him, settling the £1420 in bills exchange drawn on his estate in the West indies and paying off the balance of his [the testator's] account with Manning & Anderdon. In addition, he confirmed a bond of £1000 to Richard and left a further £1000 to Woodley. He left his son Henry £10, 'his own reflections will tell him why the donation is so small', and said that he was precluded from leaving anything to his son William. He had been an early purchaser of land on Dominica, shown as the original purchaser of St David Lot no. 1 (250 acres). In a codicil he placed the estate in trust to support the annuity of his wife and a further £50 p.a. to Jane Elizabeth Eleanor Watson otherwise Jackson.
