Biography

Samuel Barrett, son of Samuel Barrett (1662-1695) and grandson of Hersey Barrett (d. 1685). Owned Cornwall and Cinnamon Hill estates in St James, Jamaica. Died in 1760 at Cinnamon Hill and is buried there.

Samuel Barratt senior was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 180 acres of land in St Ann, 2285 acres in St James, 80 acres in St Elizabeth, 30 acres in Clarendon and 30 acres in Vere, total 2605 acres.
