Henry Gilbert Francklyn

30th Oct 1800 - 7th May 1883

Biography

London West India merchant, son of Henry Francklyn (c. 1772-1846, q.v.) and grandson of Gilbert Francklyn. 'Henry Francklyn' was awarded with Charles Alfred Francklyn (q.v.) the compensation for the Hope estate on Tobago. This was most likely Henry Francklyn (c. 1772-1846), but was conceivably Henry Gilbert Francklyn (1800-1883), the son of Henry Francklyn (by his first wife), and grandson of Gilbert Francklyn. Henry Gilbert Franckyin was in correspondence with the compensation commissioners but this might have been on behalf of his father Henry.
