Peter Margetson Wallace

1780 - 1864

Claimant or beneficiary

Biography

Slave-owner on Jamaica, owner of Stoakesfield until at least 1807. Peter Margetson Wallace also claimed apparently unsuccessfully for compensation by virtue of his wife Louisa (nee Turmaine) who had an annuity secured on Taylors Caymanas. The origin of this annuity has not yet been traced: Louisa Turmaine appears to have come from a Huguenot family in Canterbury Kent with no obvious connection to Jamaica.
