Biography

Nicholas George Howell, son of Thomas Rous Howell senior and his first wife Anna Maria Thornhill Howell nee Walrond. Baptised 10/07/1790 in Christ Church, Barbados. Married Christiana Devonish [sic] in St Joseph, Barbados, 30/09/1812. Christiana was presumably the daughter of John P. Devenish, of whose estate Nicholas George Howell was executor in 1817. A daughter, Maria Frances, born 21/07/1815 and baptised in Bristol, England, 27/12/1815; four children baptised in Barbados: Christian Richards (baptised 01/01/1815), Agnes Eliza (1818), Devonish (1820), George Layne (born 1822, baptised 1824) and Benjamin Walrond (1824). Buried 16/01/1846 in St Michael, Barbados, age 56 years.
