Biography

Daughter of William Parke of the Thicketts (d. 1813) and his wife Eleanor (daughter of Samuel Baldwin Crosse of Jamaica), both of whom q.v.

  1. "Eleanor Parke the daughter of William Parke and his wife Eleanor was baptized [in St Ann, Jamaica] on the 10th day of August 1801."

  2. Eleanor married John Frederick Nembhard, 20/01/1821 at the Hermitage, St Ann, Jamaica. They had four children, all born in Jamaica: Ellen Nembhard (born 21/03/1822, died 1838), John Frederick Nembhard (born 18/04/1823 died 10/03/1856, became a soldier in the Bengal Infantry), Eliza Jane Nembhard (born 04/04/1825, married in London in 1846, died 26/03/1896 in Bournemouth), Edward Nembhard (born 16/10/1826, died 12/10/1851, also a solider in India). John F. Nembhard of the Hermitage was buried 26/12/1827 in St Ann age 32. Eleanor went on to marry William Bromley Rose, 28/11/1836.

  3. Eleanor Parke's sister Mary married Samuel Whitehorne Rose 06/01/1801 in St Ann.

  4. Eleanor Rose, wife of W. B. Rose of Mount Pleasant, St Ann, was buried 10/09/1841 age 40 in St Ann.
