Ann Upham (née Rogers or Royers)

???? - 1846

Claimant or beneficiary

Biography

Mrs Ann Upham, of Exeter Devon, counterclaimed apparently unsuccessfully as judgement creditor for the compensation for the Fairfield estate in Manchester Jamaica. Almost certainly the widow of the London merchant John Upham (q.v.).

  1. Will of Ann Upham widow [formerly of Upper Phillimore Place, Kensington] of Bradminch Buildings Exeter Devon proved 05/06/1846. The will gives no indication of her route to the compensation claim, but identifies her brothers as surnamed Rogers or Royers. John Upham of St Martin in the Fields had married Ann Rogers in 1806 at St George the Martyr in London. Her main beneficiary was her son John.
