1st Apr 1800 - 18th Feb 1856
London merchant, son of Charles Bartrum (1760-1827) and Elizabeth Eccleston. Nephew of his partner Daniel Green Pretyman (q.v.), who was married to Frances, a sister of Elizabeth Eccleston. The family firm appears to have been founded as ironmongers and hardware men by Thomas Reynolds Bartrum's grandfather, Charles Bartrum senior, who retired in 1793. The next Charles Bartrum (1760-1827) appears to have been a mortgagee or judgement creditor on at least two estates in Jamaica, and Thomas Reynolds Bartrum and his partner also seem to have bought up several smaller awards in St Kitts.
Married St Mary Lambeth 26/04/1843 to Mary Hudson, when he was described as bachelor and merchant, son of Charles Bartrum decd. Living in Leytonstone, Middlesex, in the 1851 census, "East India merchant", age 50, born London, with his wife Mary, 5 children and 5 servants.
Will of Thomas Reynolds Bartrum, merchant of Upper Thames Street, proved 07/03/1856.
