Nikolaos Sitaropoulos

What encouraged you to study at UCL Laws? 

I graduated in 1995 with a PhD from UCL Laws. I applied to study at UCL due to its excellent reputation and location, and found the University to be vibrant with a cosmopolitan character.

What roles have you had since graduating? 

Since graduating, my roles have included being a lawyer and an Adviser to the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights.

Can you tell us a bit more about your current role? 

I am now Deputy to the Director and Head of Division at the Office of the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights. The Commissioner is an institution aimed at promoting education in, awareness of and respect for human rights, as embodied in the human rights instruments of the Council of Europe.
